Reunion Update and a Note for Those Staying at Loews

Good morning, all,

I checked the registration report this morning for the 25th Reunion in October and noted that 86 classmates had registered for one or more events, purchasing a total of 315 tickets for the Friday golf tournament, Friday night dinner and/or Saturday tailgater.

Now, that's certainly nice work from a class spirit standpoint . . . but our goal for the reunion is for 400 registered classmates to purchase a total of 1,270 tickets, so we're creeping up on a quarter of the way to the final objective.

I know it seems like it's a long way away still, but we're only about 75 days from the September 15 registration deadline for pre-order ticket prices, and we're moving into the part of the summer where payments are due and decisions have to be made regarding merchandise ordering, hotels, shuttles, etc.

As I've noted before, since we haven't "taxed" the class over the years to build up a large kitty of funds, we essentially live hand-to-mouth from reunion to reunion, so I can only spend what we raise in real time. The geedunk sales we ran over the past couple of years were useful in this regard, but we've long since spent all of what we raised there on down-payments for catering, hotel and golf.

(Note: you can still purchase a wide variety of '86 merchandise at our class store, here: http://www.usnaclasstore.com/86store.html . . . proceeds benefit the reunion, as always).

Here's the page with all the information you need to register for all of the reunion events now:

Here's looking forward to seeing 186 classmates registered the next time I check the report!

FOR THOSE WITH RESERVATIONS AT LOEWS IN THE CLASS BLOCK:

Since we've filled our contractual obligation to fill our class block, Loews is offering us a couple of complementary Executive Suite upgrades.

I will randomly raffle one of these upgrades off to a classmate one week from today, on Wednesday, July 6. The winner will still pay the group rate they reserved for, but will receive a larger, nicer suite at that price, rather than the "run of house" rooms we have contracted.

To be eligible to win this upgrade you must (a) have a room reserved in Loews in the class block, and (b) be registered for at least one event at the reunion itself, per the link above.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in October . . . which is NOT that far away, so please register soon!

Best,

E

25th REUNION GOLF REGISTRATION!!

It's time to start putting together the groups for the Class of '86 25th Reunion Golf Tournament!

The venue for our tournament will be the Compass Pointe Golf Courses - located midway between Baltimore and Annapolis, right in the heart of Anne Arundel County – Compass Pointe is a premier 36-hole public golf facility with 36 holes of championship caliber golf designed by award-winning architect Lindsay Ervin.

The "four nines" - North, South, East and West - cover more than 800 acres of diverse woodland, and provide a wide variety of golf terrains and challenges for golfers of all skill levels.

You can check out Compass Pointe online at:

compasspointegolf.com/index.php

We are targeting a participation of 100 golfers for the tournament, which is about what we got at the 20th. Pls send your desired groupings (foursomes) to Eric Johnson, '86 at:
